2012 Round Here Racing Perry Roubaix Results from 2-25 & 2-26  2012

Rome Velo sent a small squad to Perry Georgia over the weekend to Race the Perry Roubaix event presented by Round Here Racing. A long time fixture in the Georgia calendar, the Perry Roubaix is a 2 day event (TT, Circuit Race & Road Race) that culminates in the epic Perry Roubaix Road Race on Sunday. A 12 mile loop that features 2 miles of hardpack dirt, the road race has always been an early season favorite.

Like its more famous namesake, Paris-Roubaix, is a race of attrition. The course is hard on bikes and on bodies. The 2012 edition saw only half the feild finishing Sunday’s race.  Team Director, Chris McGee suffered leg cramps near the end of the course but was still able to hold position near front.

Current Womens Georgia Road Race Champion, Tina Locklear found herself on the podium for the third weekend in row. Locklear had a stellar weekend with second place finishes in all three disciplines.

Team Results:
■Tina Locklear: 2nd Place Women Cat 4 Time Trial
■Tina Locklear: 2nd Place Women Cat 4 Circuit
■Tina Locklear: 2nd Place Women Cat 4 Road Race
■Chris McGee: 6th Place Men Cat 3 Circuit
■Chris McGee: 12th Place Men Cat 3 Road Race

Rome Velo take’s a week off then up to Dalton for the Dalton Grand Prix presented by Bear Creek Cycles and Spincycle Sports.
